Everything has been falling back into place... it feels. I've been happier this past week for many minor reasons. And it feels really good! For one, on Monday, Florence and I patched things up between us by going out to dinner at TGIF, where we were able to bond again. It was good quality time with Florence because we were able to have a heart to heart talk and just open up and be honest with each other. That's what I value in a friendship. And I can do that only sometimes with Florence. So we got to talking about the cruise, and Dan, of course. For the first time, Florence outright told me that she doesn't think she likes Dan very much. That she's finally decided that she doesn't like him as a person, especially from the way he acted on the day we all went to Running Aces together, and she also blames Dan for my decision to drop out of the cruise, which I made sure I clarified that the decision was mine alone. However, even though it doesn't surprise me one bit that Florence finally decided to tell me she actually didn't like Dan, I guess I am taken aback by the fact that my friend doesn't like my boyfriend and it was stated to my face. She was extremely cautious about telling me too, so I appreciate that she was also trying to be considerate but also was able to be honest with me at the same time. I don't know what I make of it. I am actually not surprised at all because I guess I've always assumed that Florence doesn't like Dan, I was always able to pick up on it. What does this mean to me? I really don't know yet...
So I've gotten a little off topic, what I wanted to talk about was how glad I am that my friendship with Florence isn't burned like I thought it was. She was very understanding, and even told me that she knew I would never do anything to intentionally hurt her... That's great to hear from her. Because I do feel understood as a person when she can see that in me.
This Friday, Nikki, Florence, and I are hanging out and we're going to hit up Elixir to party and get a bit tipsy. It sounds fun. I can't wait to go out and just party a little. I kind of miss that life. ..Maybe the single life. I just want to have a little fun. Feel confident about myself again. Feel sexy again. It's been a long time for me... And I'm really glad that of all the friends I have to go out with, these two friends would like to hang out with me. The two people I admire. It feels great. :) I feel valued as a friend by the two friends I want to keep in my life.
In other news, I have recently decided to join Irene as her running partner to run a half marathon (13 miles) for the Fourth of July Twin Cities Marathon. I am soooo excited!! I actually have ALWAYS wanted to try running either a marathon or a 5K run, and this is a great opportunity for me! Especially because it is not quite a whole marathon, but close enough! Half a marathon is quite a feat! I have under two weeks to train for it, this is going to be challenging because I have not run in over a year or so, let alone anything over 3 miles at a time. So this is going to be a challenge, but an exciting challenge to say the least! I started training today, and guess how much I ran??? 6 miles!! I have never run that much in one time! It sure felt amazing after I finished. I really pushed myself and I am damn proud of myself. Especially for running for the first time in a looooong while. Wish me luck on the rest of the week!
Yesterday was Quoc's birthday. I think it was a good birthday for him. We took him out to Perkins for dinner, and afterward, went to see Toy Story 3 in 3D. It was such a funny movie. I loved it. And I'm sure Quoc did too. Then we came home and blew candles out for the cake. I'm glad I was able to do something for my brother for his birthday. I think he deserves it.
Last but not least... THE IPHONE 3.1.3 UNLOCK IS FINALLY OFFICIALLY OUT!! I have been waiting close to 5 months for this to come out!! You don't know how LONG it's been!! I am soooo happy and uber excited!! Dan is going to unlock my iphone for me tomorrow. I want to do it as soon as possible before Apple does something to ruin this opportunity! I am sooo excited!! I finally get to use my iphone again!! :)

Dan and I thought of a great idea the other weekend to start videotaping ourselves talking, or blogging, and watch ourselves afterward to get a better idea of how we interact with others as well as micromanage any unintentional, automatic expressions that were not favorable. I thought this was a great idea! I just need to find a camera AND a tripod. I think this is how people on TV, such as actors and celebrities present themselves so well, they have the numerous opportunities to see themselves from an objective point of view, and adjust themselves accordingly. That's probably key. This idea goes very well with my idea of verbally blogging for practice with articulating and expressing myself verbally. If I can kill two birds with one stone, why not videotape myself verbally blogging? :)
On another note, here are some things I'd also like to start doing:
Mental self-improvement:
- Focus on the positive. Shift to positive thoughts. Don't give negative thoughts the time of day. Forget it existed. Don't dwell on negative thoughts.
- Life really flies by. Before you know it, you'll be 30, or even 40. Take the opportunity to stay young, live--and not exist, dwell on positive thoughts, be grateful for what you have, have fun, do things that matter, and be your best rate self.
Social self-improvement:
- Write down and remember details, stories, & happenings about the people in my life.
- The simple, small, acts of courtesy really do matter and they really do shine through. Think of Mary's kind gestures.
Professional self-improvement:
- Videotape myself verbally blog on a daily basis and actually watch to critique myself.
- Read the news, blogs, magazine articles, editorials.
- Sharpen my mind. Do Sudoku.
- Surround myself with beautiful things. Get some sunshine!
Physical self-improvement:
- Wash my face every night with face wash to deep cleanse and remove make up.
- Eat breakfast and snack healthily throughout the day.
- Brush my teeth morning and night.
- Improve my posture.
- Take walks and bike.
- Drink lots of water.
- Workout. Tone myself.
- Update my wardrobe. Get new, trendy, stylish outfits that make you feel sexy and confident!
- Get new shoes to wear to work or out.
- Get a new haircut.
Personal To Do list:
- Get organized. Organize my gmail, laptop contents, iPhone apps...
Goals (The End in Mind):
- Obtain a big-girl job
- Pay off my loans
- Pay off my credit card
- Move out and be independent
- Buy my own car
- Raise my credit score
- Be happily married. :)
Things to learn:
- Cook Vietnamese and American cuisine
- Play poker well!
- Magic tricks with cards
- Play the piano
Role Models:
- Mary Z.
- My-le D.
- Dorothy S.
- Britney S.

Aim to be the very best at everything you do---not second best.
Wow. What a tall order. This is a seriously difficult thing to aim for--and deliberately so. If you go to work, then do your job as well as is humanly possible. If you are a parent, be the very best parent possible. If you are a gardener, be the very best gardener you can be. Because if you aren't, then what are you aiming for? And why? If you set out to do something, anything, and you are deliberately aiming for second best, how sad is that? This Rule is really simple, really easy. Let's take parenting, for example. What is the very best way of parenting possible? There are, of course, no right or wrong answers here, it's entirely a subjective assessment. What do YOU think the very best parenting means? good. now are you going to aim for less than that? Of course not.
And the same is true for everything you do. You aim to be the very best that YOU think is possible. Once you become the judge, the panel of experts, it is very easy to live up to those expectations because they are entirely yours. No one else can say whether you have failed or succeeded. no one else can set the criteria for what you are about to embark on.
Failing is fine. Aiming for second best isn't.

testing one two three
There's only one thing, to do, three words: I love you. I love you. jdddddddddddddddddklasdjfsdkl ksldjf skldjf alskdjf alskdjf asldjf askld fklsjd; ajsdklf asjdklfjasdl fjskld jfaskld jfklds ajfkld ajskld fjdfaklsdjf
God orders our steps and our stops. There are divine interruptions that God, on purpose, allows into our lives in order to bring about His best plan. On purpose, God might delay a situation to protect us from an accident; or on purpose, He may close a door because it’s not His best. Sometimes God will allow us to be inconvenienced so we can help someone else in need. When you live with confidence that the Creator of the universe is directing your steps, then you will know that every disappointment, every delay, every interruption is orchestrated by the Most High God all for your good. Even a fall, somehow, someway, God will still use to your advantage. God’s delays are deliberate. He is in complete control, and He promises that all things are going to work together for your good
